CANDLE CARE

Tips + Tricks

  • On the first lighting, allow the melted wax to reach the edge of the vessel (as shown in the photo to the left) before extinguishing. Soy wax has memory; meaning it remembers the width of the initial "melt pool". Achieving a full "melt pool" on the initial burn helps to prevent tunnelling and lengthens the lifespace of the candle.

  • Trim the candle’s wick to roughly 1/8”-1/4” prior to EACH lighting. Use a wick trimmer, scissors, nail clipper, or simply pinch off the charred bits with your fingers. A short wick will allow the candle to burn better.

  • Optimal burn time is 2-3 hours. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. You may notice that the flame has become weaker around the 4 hour mark. This is your sign to blow out the candle, allow wax to solidify completely, and trim the wick before re-lighting.

  • Repurpose your concrete candle vessel when finished (Plant pot, match jar, refill, etc)! Our glass candles jars can also be re-used and are dishwasher safe. Remove the excess wax, rinse with warm/soapy water and pop it in the dishwasher for additional sanitizing before reuse.
